Adding Lightning to a Photograph

1. Make a new photoshop file with 300w by 200h. Make alinear gradient using black and white.

2. Apply difference clouds on the image

3. Invert the image by going to image / adjustments / invert.

4. Adjust the levels, by entering around 247 for the 1st value. You can do this by going to image / adjustments / levels

5. Next open a nighttime photograph.

6. Drag over the lightning image and then rotate it using the transform tool.

7. Change the blending mode of the image to screen.

8. Add 1 or 2 more duplicates of the lightning and then you’re finished!
