Shredded Paper Text Photoshop Tutorial

1. Make a new photoshop file with 200w by 200h. Use the polygonal lasso tool to create a small green/blue shape.

2. Make a few different coloured shades of the same shape in a new layer set.

3. Now change the opacity of the shapes to, starting from the left, 70%, 100%, 70%, 70%, 50%. Duplicate the layer set of shapes and then use the transform tool to scale them down to about 90%.

4. Duplicate the original layer set again, but this time scale them down to about 70%.

5. Create some text. Dark blue, Arial Black, 150pt, sharp has been used here.

6. Start to cover the text with duplicates of some of the shapes.

7. Add some more.

8. Cover the text with more lighter shapes to achieve the effect shown below, and you’re done.
