Ninja Star Photoshop Tutorial

Step 1. With this photoshop tutorial, you will learn how to draw a ninja star. The 1st thing to do is to create a 300×300 sized document in Photoshop, with a black background. Make a new path layer and start off by creating a diagonal line.

Step 2. Zoom in to 200% magnification and then continue to create the shape below.

Step 3. Once you’ve completed the path, use it to make a selection. Fill the selection with white on a new layer.

Step 4. Make another path layer and start to make the path shown below.

Step 5. Make a selection using the completed path and then delete the area.

Step 6. Zoom back to 100% and duplicate the shape. Rotate it by 90 degrees clockwise and then position is like in the bottom left image. Duplicate it again and rotate is 90 degrees clockwise again.

Step 7. Make a 4th copy and poistion it to complete the basic star shape. Make a selection using the shape and then fill it with a very dark grey, on a new layer.

Step 8. Feather and contract the layer by 2 pixels and then delete the selected area.

Step 9. Choose the linear gradient tool and set it to “Foreground to Transparent”. Make the foreground colour a bright blue and then make a new layer. Drag the gradient tool twice, each the distance, angle and length of the arrows below.

Step 10. Make a new layer below the other layers, feather the selection by 3 and expand it by 1. Fill the selection witha very light blue and then reduce the layer’s opacity to 70%
